Before we get started, I need to tell you about PodcastLaunch.pro. It’s not just some new podcasting service. It’s my new podcasting service. After a few months trying out my hand as a podcast consultant, I think I’m onto something. Let me know if I can help you. Or if you know someone who needs help.

It’s not hard to find good food in Thailand. But to find the really great places, you need to eat with a local. Hands down the best way to do this is with a food tour by Taste of Thailand. We recently took their Tuk Tuk Urban Odyssey food tour, where we were shuttled around in style to the best hidden away places we never knew existed. The next time you come to town, you simply must book a tour with Taste of Thailand. And I’m not just saying that because they’ve comped us a couple of trips thus far. It’s great, and now we’ve got a bunch of new places to try right near our new place in Bangkok!

And you’ll want a full belly to get through our featured story today. S. Bedford -- Sue, to her friends -- is our kind of people. Cavalier attitude? Check. Throw caution to the wind and just travel the world? Check. Funny? Check. And best of all: Sue knows how to tell a damned funny story. Which is good, because plenty of funny things happened to her when she was traipsing around the world. She’s collected the best of them -- and they are seriously funny -- in her book It's Only the Himalayas: And Other Tales of Miscalculation from an Overconfident Backpacker. No, I’m not one to recommend travel memoirs, but in this case, I’ll make an exception. I read the whole thing in two days. It’s awesome.

I’m looking forward to the second edition, because there are lots of stories that didn’t make it in the book. Like this one, where she was pressed into tattooing some random stranger’s face in Central America. I mean, if it’s going to happen somewhere… I guess it might as well be Guatamala? Oh, and did I mention that Sue is not a tattoo artist? Yeah. That sorta makes the story.

Sheila’s super stoked about the new roller bag she received from TravelSmith. There are logistics why she can’t carry a backpack bag like I do, but I think I have her hooked on the idea of never checking a bag again. Thanks again, TravelSmith. You’re an awesome sponsor.

You’ve still got a few hours to sign up to get a postcard from our recent trip to Khao Lak. But even if you miss it: no worries. I think the next batch is coming from the Philippines. Want one? Get signed get signed up as a Patron of ours (it’s super cheap!) and I’ll send you one every single month!

Music for our show is graciously provided by the fantastic band Velella Velella. They make killer tunes, and you should buy all of their stuff. It’s fabulous!
